Test Control

Test Control is the ongoing process of taking corrective actions to steer the testing effort toward its goals. It involves analyzing test progress and results, then making decisions to adjust resources, schedules, or priorities to ensure the project stays on track.

Example: During a testing cycle for a new mobile game, the QA manager notices that the team is behind schedule on testing the in-app purchase feature. To perform test control, the manager might reallocate testers from a less critical area, such as the UI design, to focus on the high-priority purchase feature. This decision ensures that the most important parts of the application are thoroughly tested before the deadline.
