Mobile Operating Systems

iOS: Created by Apple, iOS runs on iPhones and iPads. It’s known for its smooth performance, strong security, and well-controlled environment. Apps for iOS are available through the Apple App Store, and the platform has a limited range of device models and operating system versions.

Android: Developed by Google, Android is an open-source platform used by many different manufacturers, leading to a wide variety of devices with different hardware and software setups. It offers lots of customization options and apps can be distributed through the Google Play Store and other sources. Because there are so many devices and OS versions, testing on Android can be more complex.

Other Platforms: While iOS and Android are the main players, there are other platforms like HarmonyOS (by Huawei) and some custom operating systems used in specific regions or for certain devices. These platforms usually have smaller user bases and need specific testing approaches.
