Functional Testing

A Functional Testing is a type of software testing that verifies each function of an application works as specified in the requirements. It focuses on what the system does, rather than how it does it, by checking for correct inputs, valid outputs, and proper behavior.

Example: For a new e-commerce website, Functional Testing would involve creating and executing tests to ensure the "Add to Cart" button correctly adds the selected item to the user's shopping cart. This would also include checking that the cart total updates accurately and that the item's details (e.g., name, price, quantity) are displayed correctly.
